Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU: The Santa Clarita Owner’s Guide
If you’re planning a home addition or ADU in Santa Clarita with Caesarstone surfaces, a full project typically runs between $45,000 and $130,000 depending on square footage, site preparation, and finish selections. We stock and install Caesarstone-compatible surfaces, and the right countertop or surface component is usually available within three to five business days from our local suppliers. Most homeowners discover a surface issue not through failure but through renovation: a seam opens, an edge chips during framing, or a new addition means matching an existing Caesarstone color that’s no longer in production. That’s where the real work begins.
Which Caesarstone Models This Applies To

Caesarstone runs several distinct product families, and the compatibility question depends on which one you have. The Classic and Supernatural lines cover most residential kitchens in Santa Clarita, while the Outdoor Collection is rated for UV exposure and is the only Caesarstone line we recommend for uncovered ADU kitchenettes or outdoor bar areas. The Porter and Whitelight collections sit at different price points and have different edge profile tolerances.
Here’s the gotcha most owners don’t know: Caesarstone changes color formulations between production runs, and a slab cut in 2019 will not perfectly match a slab cut in 2025, even with the same color name. If you’re matching an existing island to a new ADU countertop, we order a sample chip from the current production batch before we cut. The slab thickness also matters. Most indoor Caesarstone is 2cm or 3cm. 3cm can carry an overhang without additional support, but 2cm usually requires a subtop or strategic bracing, especially in a Santa Clarita summer when temperature swings stress seams. An adhesive that holds fine at 72 degrees can fail at 104 degrees if the seam gap is too tight.
We’re an independent contractor, not affiliated with Caesarstone directly. But we order through certified fabricators in the Santa Clarita Valley who verify batch numbers, so the surface you spec is the surface that arrives.

Signs Your Caesarstone Home Additions & ADU Is Failing
- A seam opens or shifts, especially near a heat source. Caesarstone expands and contracts with temperature. In Santa Clarita, where summer afternoons can push a kitchen above 90 degrees, seams near ovens or west-facing windows move. If you can catch a fingernail on the seam, it’s opened. This is a repair we can usually do without replacing the full slab.
- Edge chipping around a cooktop cutout. The narrow strip of stone between a cooktop cutout and the front edge is the weakest point on any Caesarstone top. A dropped cast-iron pan on that lip will chip it. We can sometimes fill and polish a small chip in the Supernatural line; some Classic colors are harder to match after polishing.
- Dull or etched patches near the sink. Caesarstone is non-porous, which means it won’t stain like granite, but harsh cleaners (especially oven cleaner or drain cleaner splash-back) will etch the surface. If a patch looks foggy and won’t clean up, that’s a chemical etch, not a stain. It needs a professional re-polish, not more scrubbing.
- A hairline crack radiating from a corner of a sink cutout. This usually means the cutout corner was too square, or the slab settled after installation. Hairline cracks can grow, and in a 3cm slab they sometimes run deep. We evaluate whether it’s surface-level or structural before recommending a fix.
- Caesarstone installed outdoors that’s now chalky or faded. If someone installed a Classic line product on an exterior ADU barbecue counter, the UV will break down the surface over time. Only the Outdoor Collection is rated for direct California sun. This almost always means replacement with the correct product.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included

For a full home addition or ADU in Santa Clarita, plan on $45,000 to $130,000, but the Caesarstone component itself sits inside that number. If we’re replacing a single countertop surface, the line item typically runs between $2,000 and $6,500 installed, including template, fabrication, edge profile, and seam work. A full kitchen remodel with new cabinets and Caesarstone counters ranges from $14,000 to $45,000 depending on layout and material volume. An ADU kitchenette with a short Caesarstone run usually lands between $3,000 and $10,000 including the base cabinets.
What changes the price: slab thickness, edge profile (a waterfall edge adds material and labor), the number of seams, and whether we need to disassemble existing cabinetry to remove an old top without damaging it. We write the price down before we start and it doesn’t change unless the scope changes. The written price is the price. Graham Stein keeps a notepad in the truck and writes estimates by hand first, so there’s no confusion about what the final invoice says.
The 365-Day Done Right Promise covers the Caesarstone work. If a seam opens or something isn’t right after the project is complete, we make it right. That’s stamped on every project we do in Santa Clarita.
DIY or Call Us?
There’s a real safety line here. Caesarstone slabs are heavy, often 150 to 400 pounds for a typical kitchen section. A dropped slab breaks toes, crushes fingers, and cracks tile floors. This is not a two-person weekend job, and it’s not a job for a homeowner with a pry bar and good intentions. The fabrication side, cutting, polishing, seam bonding, edge profiling, requires water-fed diamond tooling that most homeowners don’t own and shouldn’t rent.
What you can safely do: check your slab thickness, look for the Caesarstone lot sticker on the underside of an overhang (it has the color code and batch number, which helps us match a replacement), and photograph any chips or cracks with a ruler next to them so we can gauge scale before we schedule. Then call us. We’ll walk the rest.

FAQs

Caesarstone’s manufacturer warranty runs 25 years in most residential applications, but real-world lifespan in Santa Clarita depends on the line, the installation, and the sun exposure. Indoor Classic or Supernatural surfaces in a properly supported installation can go 20 to 30 years with normal care. The Outdoor Collection, properly sealed at seams, also lasts decades. A poorly supported seam or an outdoor installation using a non-rated product can fail within a few summers.
Sometimes. Hairline cracks can often be filled with color-matched resin and re-polished, especially in the Supernatural line where the color is more uniform throughout. Larger cracks, cracks radiating from cutouts, or chips on a heavily patterned Classic color are harder to repair invisibly. We’ll tell you straight whether a repair will show or whether replacement is the honest answer. Call (661) 542-4056 and we’ll evaluate the slab in person.
From template to install, most replacements run five to ten business days. Templating takes an hour on site, fabrication is usually three to five days at a certified shop, and installation is one day with two or three technicians. If we need to match an existing color batch, add a few days for current production samples. The disassembly and haul-away of the old top happens on the install day.
We don’t warehouse slabs ourselves. We order through certified Caesarstone fabricators in the Santa Clarita Valley, which means we can pull current batch samples quickly and confirm color match before cutting. For smaller jobs like a single vanity or an ADU kitchenette, we can often pull from remnant stock and save you money on materials while keeping the same warranty. Call (661) 542-4056 and we’ll check what’s available this week.
If you’re ready to talk about a home addition or ADU in Santa Clarita, or you have a Caesarstone surface that needs attention, call (661) 542-4056 for a free estimate. The price on the paper is the price on the invoice. We put that in writing before the first board goes down.
